Following our obsession with Shappi Khorsandi, we went to see her opening show last night at the Soho Theatre, courtesy of her agents Off The Kerb Productions (thank you very much!)
Shappi acted as both usher and compere introducing herself and organising her audience so we all got maximum benefit.
She delivered Carry On Shappi re-vamped with new material in a natural, engaging and intimate style that is beyond comparison to anything we have ever seen.
Book now to see Shappi - Tickets: £12 (£10 concs) to buy online click

The combination of Dhafer Youssef’s magnificent voice, his oud and Wolfgang Muthspiel’s guitar genius was a mesmerising, awe inspiring performance of outstanding technical brilliance.
Youssef and Muthspiel performed from their recent work together and their album Glow, released on Muthspiel’s label, Material Records on 5th November, at the London Symphony Orchestra’s St Luke’s Church to a packed crowd.

Tunisian born Dhafer Youssef has been performing the oud, a very close relation to the European lute, since he made his first one as a child, to see him play you realise the oud is as much a part of him as his voice.
Similarly, critically acclaimed Wolfgang Muthspiel, from Austria, is a virtuoso with the guitar. Originally trained in the violin, Muthspiel switched to guitar at the age of 15 and is renowned for the sheer variety of his skill and openness of performance.

We saw Shazia Mirza do her routine last night at the Soho theatre and she was totally exceptional.
Shazia is on tonight and tomorrow See Shazia’s Kazbah Listing for booking and other details.
We could have tried to be funny and said:
“No one else is quite as s**t as her, nor as politically correct, nor as ethno culturally sensitive as s**tty Shazia, go and see her because she’s so….”
But NO, you can’t be so crass and make a parody.
Shazia brings us the wit of the world, using her full potential to illuminate the craziness of society, the twisted misconceptions that lead to bigotry and worse.
We couldn’t stop laughing.
What more can I say?
GO AND SEE SHAZIA THE MINUTE YOU CAN, SIMPLY UNMISSABLE.

The film Ahlaam, which means Dreams, by Mohamed Al-Daradji, is harrowing, terrible and very real. It depicts present day Iraq, but it also represents hope for Iraq.
